Questions
What is Jobline?
Jobline is a CRM and invoicing app for Canadian contractors and trades. It tracks each job through seven stages: lead, site visit, estimate, approved, in progress, invoiced and paid.
Who is Jobline for?
Small and mid-sized trade businesses in Canada: general contractors and renovators, exterior trades such as roofing, gutters and siding, mechanical trades such as HVAC, plumbing and electrical, and installers of blinds, flooring and cabinets.
How does Jobline calculate the final invoice?
Jobline adds approved change orders to the contract, subtracts the deposit and any progress invoices already issued, and bills the remainder as the final invoice, so the job closes at $0.00 owing. Example: a $10,850 contract plus an $850 change order is $11,700. After a 30% deposit of $3,255 and a 25% progress bill of $2,925, the final invoice is $5,520.
Does Jobline handle GST, PST and HST?
Yes. Each company picks its province and Jobline adds the matching GST, PST or HST lines to every invoice.
How do clients approve an estimate?
The client gets a link by email, opens the estimate on their phone and taps Approve. Jobline then marks the job approved and issues the deposit invoice.
Can Jobline send email from my own domain if I use Google Workspace?
Yes. Jobline sends and receives job email on a subdomain such as jobs.yourcompany.ca, so your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailbox keeps working unchanged. Client replies are filed on the job inside Jobline.
Where is Jobline data stored?
On servers in Canada, in the Montréal region.
How much does Jobline cost?
Jobline is free during the beta. Pricing will be announced at launch. You can join the beta at the top of this page.
